Inflatable slides are amazing fun for all children, but after an extended period of time, the once shiny and slippery “slip-sheet” cover may eventually become less slippery.
Friction on the slide will make it less slippery, which will reduce the enjoyment that riders have while sliding down it.
Children will be climbing all over the slide and sliding down it meaning that it will be covered in a fine microscopic coating of grime and dust particles, caused by dirt, mud, pollution, fibres from clothes and anything else and although not detectable to the human eye, it can increase as the party progresses.
After each use, we give the slip sheet cover for our slide’s a thorough washing using a cloth and an appropriate cleaning agent in order to keep it in excellent condition and prevent it from becoming dirty.
All Star Bounce NI have access to a wide variety of solutions, which they employ to maintain the slippery surface of slide coverings. Please conduct your own study into these items before purchasing them; some of them may not live up to the standards that you anticipate, and they may also cause harm to certain materials, such as any printed designs that are on the slide covers.
The following are examples of some of the products that bouncy castle and slide hire companies use:
Cleaner and polish made by Mr. Sheen
Furniture polish
Tire shine
Cleaning agents for vinyl
Plastic polishing agents
Silicone spray
Turtle wax
HOW TO CLEAN A SLIDE COVER THAT IS DIRTY
If the slide cover has not been getting the maintenance it deserves, you'll need to give it a good clean and then polish it so that it can function properly again. If you use a gentle cleanser and a scouring sponge, you should be able to remove most of the microscopic coating of dust and grime etc. however, you need make sure that the scourer is kept clean. In order to prevent pushing particles into the slide cover, you will want to clean it as frequently as possible.
We usually “treat” the slip sheet on all our slides to make them more slippery every single time that we hire out our slides. This is for the added enjoyment for your children and their guests.
We also normally use a buffer, such as a car buffer or another polishing instrument. This will allow us to complete the operation more quickly.
From personal experience, Mr Sheen furniture polish works the best. We spray it on the slip sheet then use a dry cloth and smooth it out on the vinyl of the slide’s slip sheet.
Always keep an eye on the children as they slide down any of our mega or water slides. Children should also remove their shoes, eyeglasses, and jewellery before they enter. And it's important to keep an eye on the weather conditions. It is not legal to use a bouncy castle, mega slide or waterslide in winds exceeding 24 mph - including gusts.
At All Star Bounce Ni we have a wide range of slides, mega slides and waterslides available in Bangor, Newtownards, Comber, Donaghadee, Holywood and Belfast.
